But back to the beginning on this thing because the beginning is where most stories start.
The editors at the mighty Chronicle were alerted recently by the suits at Tree Top (same ones that had the pleasure spasm) that “America’s Best Firehouse BBQ Cook-Off” was off to a smokin’ start and that that they were excited to inform us that Snohomish County Fire District #26’s recipe for “Stop, Drop and BBQ Chicken” (a little firehouse humor there) has been selected as one of 10 finalists entered for a chance to win the $10,000 grand prize.
The top 10 finalists were asked to create a short video to convince America and the judges that their firehouse – and recipe – are the best and most deserving of the $10,000 prize.
And that the guys at firehouse #26 in Gold Bar did do in spades. And they done it up good.
So if they don’t win this BBQ contest thing, the Chronicle will see to it there is a complete investigation. No stone will be left unturned.
We’ll call in the heavy artillery including the forensics team, face painters, jugglers, panhandlers and various and sundry no accounts. Heads will roll.
At any rate, now through July 29, America is invited to vote online for their favorite video -- which means everyone here in the Sky Valley is obligated to vote for Snohomish County Fire # 26’s video/recipe.
Period. No excuses, no back sliders.
We’ll be keeping tabs on who votes and who does not. You’ve been warned.
