WERNER PADDLES NAMED SKY VALLEY CHAMBER MEMBER OF THE YEAR
February 10, 2015
(SULTAN, WA.) -- A longtime and very successful Sultan based business that's known the world over and is celebrating 50 years of making high quality American water sports products, Werner Paddles has been named the Sky Valley Chamber Member of the Year for 2015 by the Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Werner Paddles , since its inception a family owned business, has been making for half a century arguably the highest quality canoe, kayak and boat paddles found anywhere on the planet.
Pro watersports shops as well as full service sports product palaces like REI and backcountry shops the world over stock Werner paddles. They're hot sellers on the Internet as well.
If you're serious about white water kyaking or kyak and canoe touring, chances are you already own Werner paddles.
How good are they? A 2012 piece on kayakdave.com said, "Over the years, Werner Paddles has been extending the gap between themselves and the rest of the paddle manufacturers in the market."
Translation: there's Werner at the top, and everyone else is below that high water mark.
There's an interesting report/testimonial located here by white water runner Jesse Coombs about why he uses Werner Paddles.
Here's a video showing the Werner white water team testing out some of the company's paddles.

Werner Paddles was founded in 1965 by watersports enthusiast Werner Furrer. A love for paddling together turned the family garage into a work shop and that started the journey that continues today.
Bruce Furrer is now at the helm of this Sky Valley and American manufacturing success story that employs sixty people.
"We believe that Handcrafted in Sultan, WA is certainly a thing to be proud of in this day and age. But beyond just keeping jobs in the US, we design and build to a higher standard," said Bruce Furrer.
"An attention to detail that truly makes our paddles perform the way they do. That pride in our work spans from designers, testers and craftsman to, we hope, the very hands of paddlers everywhere. Our place in our community now and tomorrow is forged by our past; the desire to design and build paddle performance that you will feel in your hands and trust through the water, with every stroke.”
Werner Paddles upgraded the company website in November of last year to include an interactive history about the company. You'll find that historical timeline here .
A tip of the Sky Valley Chronicle hat today to one of the best watersports manufacturing companies in the world, a leader in its industry and a maker of absolutely killer paddles.
