Sultanís National Night Out To Be Held On Main St. Aug. 7
August 07, 2018

(SULTAN, WA.) – Sultan’’s version of National Night Out will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm August 7 at the corner of Main & 1st Street.

Like Monroe and Gold Bar’s events, this one also is a family fun gig with lots to see and do including:

~ Appearances by Smokey the Bear, McGruff the Crime Dog and Pikachu.

~ Free dinner provided by local business 2-1/2 Men BBQ.

~ Vendor booths from various organizations inlcuding Wallace Falls State Park, Trout Unlimited, Pasadoi’s Safe Haven and more.

~ The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office plans to have a member of the sheriff’s office boat unit on hand with a watercraft, plus a couple members of the SWAT team with gear. (No touching the flash bang grenades kids.)

~ First responders from District 5 will offer interactive demonstrations in the Snohomish County Fire District 7 safety trailer, a teaching tool used to help kids identify hazards in the home and learn what to do in the case of a fire-related emergency. The safety trailer mimics a house fire with simulated “smoke” and a bedroom door that becomes warm to the touch.

~ The Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD) is bringing its newly-constructed high-voltage demonstration trailer, which shows the dangers of electricity and what happens when debris contacts high-voltage power lines. The trailer produces 7,200 volt arcs that pull 2,300 amps of electrical current.

And much more. The event is free and all are invited.
