(SULTAN, WA) -- Sultan has it’s annual Spring Community Cleanup day slated for Sat. April 15.
The event will be held from 9 am to 2 pm at Sultan High School (enter through the back way on 8th street). The gates are closed at 2 pm.
This year's combo promo piece and admission circular (release form) for locals says, "Join us for the biggest cleanup event ever!"
It is most often a well attended event because it’s the one day of the year when town folk can pick up almost anything from around their house, yard or back-40 and (with a few exceptions) dump it off for FREE at the Sultan High School parking lot.
With a 20 gallon limit Sultan residents can drop off for free things like old, unwanted cans of paint (but NO Latex paint) old varnish and stain cans, batteries, brake fluid, herbicides, insecticides, moth balls, motor oil, oven cleaner, solvents, rugs and upholstery cleaners, bleach, antifreeze, gasoline, diesel fuel and much more.
Reefers and freezers require a $30 fee to cover disposal cost. There's free recycling of clothes washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers and hot water tanks.
There's also green waste recycling like leaves, grass, plants and tree limbs and free metal recycling such as bicycles, wire, cable, copper, aluminum, empty burn barrels and more.
Computer CPU’s can be brought in for recycling but computer monitors and televisions cannot be accepted.
The city has already mailed to residents the flyer with all details (do's and dont's).
