(SULTAN, WA.) -- You and yours are hereby invited to the 16th annual, free Sultan Harvest community dinner. It takes place Thursday November 23rd.
Produced by the fine folks at the Sultan Harvest Committee, in partnership with the Volunteers of America (VOA) Sky Valley Services Center, this year's dinner will be held from Noon to 4 pm in the Sultan High School Commons.
The high school is located at 13715 310th Ave. S.E. in Sultan.
“Sultan Harvest is an amazing, heartfelt event organized by the community for the community,” says volunteer Christina Sivewright. “It represents Sultan at its finest, as it welcomes guests from all over the Sky Valley for a freshly-cooked Thanksgiving dinner.”
A first class feed
It's a first class hoedown, this big free feed for the holidays: traditional Thanksgiving Day meal with turkey and all the trimmings, typically including green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy.
Dessert often includes a selection of freshly-baked pies, including pumpkin and apple with plenty of whipped cream.
A “sandwich station” is available to guests who wish to get a head start on their post-Thanksgiving Day sandwiches and deliveries will be available to those with mobility issues.
This is a well thought out, well planned, superbly executed and very popular event every year. Last year they provided meals for about 600 guests.
The dinner is for everyone
Sultan Harvest embraces families, youth, seniors, Veterans and everyone in between. In addition to food and conversation you'll find the annual Sultan Harvest warm clothing giveaway provides coats, hats, scarves and blankets to anyone in need.
The event includes a visit from the real Santa Claus who's available for photos which are printed for free onsite.
