SULTAN PLANNING BOARD MEMBER RESIGNS
December 31, 2008
(SULTAN, WA) -- Sultan Planning Board member Paul McBride submitted his resignation from the Planning Board to Mayor Carolyn Eslick today.
In his resignation McBride stated he made a decision to move out of the area to be closer to family adding, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Planning Board. It was very interesting to see the inner workings of a city and I can only hope to work with people such as yourselves in my new home.”
McBride’s resignation announcement is an item on the agenda for the Planning Board Meeting on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. The Mayor is prepared to present her appointment of Jerry Knox to replace McBride for the City Council’s consideration on Thursday, January 8, 2009.
“Since we recently interviewed three qualified candidates including Knox in December, I am reluctant to have these same interested candidates go back through the interview process. As a result, I am recommending the City Council approve my appointment of Jerry Knox”, said Mayor Eslick in a prepared statement.
Knox is a long-time resident of the City of Sultan with a background in business and finance. Now retired, Knox was a small business owner for over 20 years and a regional manager for a national retail company.
