| |  SULTAN OFFERS EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING FOR CITIZENS February 03, 2010

 (SULTAN, WA) -- The City of Sultan, in partnership with Snohomish County Fire District 5 and the Snohomish County Sheriffs Office is offering “Community Emergency Response Team” (CERT) Training to interested citizens.
CERT Training is a way for you to protect family, friends and neighbors for the first 72 hours following a disaster.
Studies show it takes at least 72 hours for help to reach citizens after a significant disaster event such as major earthquake, flood or volcanic eruption.
The classes are FREE and will be held every Friday in Sultan, starting February 12th. The same sessions will be held in the afternoon and evenings from 1:30 p.m., to 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
“The course is very comprehensive, covering Disaster Preparedness, Fire Suppression, Medical, Search and Rescue, Psychology and Team Organization and even Disaster Simulation”, said Sultan Police Chief, Jeff Brand in a statement.
