ARREST MADE IN SULTAN'S MAN DEATH
November 13, 2015

(SULTAN, WA) -- A 49-year old Spokane man has been arrested on suspicion of 2nd degree murder in the death of a 61-year old Sultan man.

The death was considered suspicious based on the injuries visible to detectives, although cause and manner of death are still pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office.

"Detectives believe the suspect fatally assaulted the victim after a physical confrontation between the two men last week," according to a statement from the Snohomsh County Sheriff's office.

The body of the Sultan man was discovered in a wooded area near the 32600 block of 132nd St SE on October 29.

Positive ID of the victim is still pending from the Medical Examiner's office.

Update: The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has since identified the victim in this case as 61-year-old Donald Hosier from Gold Bar, Washington.

The medical examiner said he died from homicidal violence. Police have not released what relationship existed between the two men or if there was a relationship.

Police have also not released the nature or date of the alleged physical confrontation between the two.
