(SNOHOMISH, WA.) – The first of six weekend closures of the westbound U.S. 2 Highway trestle from Bickford  Avenue to Everett is scheduled for Friday, May 18 to Monday, May 21.

This weekend, WSDOT (Wash. State Dept. of Transportation) crews will close westbound US 2 between the SR 204 interchange and 50th Avenue Southeast.

The westbound on-ramps to US 2 from SR 204 and 20th Street Southeast will also be closed to prevent traffic from accessing the work area on the eastern end of the Hewitt Avenue trestle.

The closure begins at 7 p.m. Friday, May 18. All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 4 a.m. Monday, May 21.

The project removes damaged asphalt and repaves both directions of the highway to keep the heavily traveled highway in a state of good repair for commuters and commerce.

Additionally, a thorough inspection of the westbound Hewitt Avenue trestle will be conducted and repairs will be made as needed.

Other tentative closure dates this summer: June 1-3, June 22-25, June 29-July 2, July 13-16 and July 20-23.

You can keep track of closures by visiting the WSDOT website here
