(EVERETT, WA.) -- Snohomish County’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism invites the public to the final presentation for the Paine Field visitor attraction "wayfinding signage project."

It's scheduled for November 2nd at the Future of Flight, Forward Cabin from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Local officials say the absence of a "branded visitor signage system is a major challenge" for those trying to locate the five major tourist attractions on or near Paine Field, all with similar sounding names.

"The tourism signage project was launched by the county earlier this year and is funded with lodging taxes," says a statement released by the county Monday. "The project started with a major assessment, examining existing signs, roadway connections and traffic patterns. Based on that assessment, multiple design concepts were created. Findings of the assessment and design concepts were presented to the public for input earlier in 2017."

The final presentation on Nov. 2nd will be led by Tangram Design, LLC, an "environmental graphics and wayfinding firm."

The company lead the large steering committee of stakeholders, including the City of Everett, City of Mukilteo, the county, and the individual aviation attractions.

It sought input from the steering committee and the community by conducting community engagement workshops and an online survey to inform the design approval process.

“Ultimately, members of the community and the attractions favor designs that reflect the vintage feel of aviation, which is evident in the collections represented in the museums located around Paine Field, "said Tangram Principal, George Lim.

The goal of the project is to ease navigational confusion and enhance the visitor experience by clearly identifying the attractions in the environment so that they can be informed there are additional aviation attractions in the area.

At the final presentation meeting the public will view illustrations that show dimensions and content of the signage system.
