City action to be taken on Police Dept. remodel project

(SNOHOMISH, WA.) -- Action will be taken at the Sept. 6 Snohomish City Council meeting on awarding a bid and authorizing the City Manager to sign a contract with Accord Contractors for the Police Department remodeling project.

There will also be a discussion regarding Economic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC) legislative transportation priorities.

Council meetings are held at 7 pm on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the George Gilbertson Boardroom of the Snohomish School District Resource Center, 1601 Avenue D Snohomish, WA 98290.

Traffic impact coming to Maple Avenue

Traffic may be impacted on Maple Avenue from Second Street to Pine Avenue on Tues. September 6 as new paving for the street is scheduled, weather permitting.

The project is funded by the City’s Transportation Benefit District ($35,000) and has been awarded a grant ($305,000) from the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) which is intended to support infrastructure improvements, improve safety and increase mobility through corridors.

Land use applications in process

The applications listed below are currently pending or under city review. During the comment period associated with a development proposal, interested parties may submit comments for the project record.

For additional information on any of these projects, the project file may be reviewed at City Hall during normal business hours Staff is also available to respond to questions at the contact information below.

Riverview South Preliminary Plat (14-lot Planned Residential Development): 2210 Second Street
File #05-16-PP. Pending complete application determination.

Cady Landing Pedestrian Bridge: 40 Maple Avenue

Bickford Landing Comprehensive Plan Amendment: 2424 and 2501 Bickford Avenue. The request is for a Land Use Map amendment from Business Park to High Density Residential.

Comprehensive Plan amendments are an annual legislative process and decision of the City Council following “nonproject” environmental review and a recommendation by the Planning Commission.

Opportunities for public comment will be provided through the environmental review, Planning Commission, and City Council processes.
