City Planning Commission to look at improving permit process
June 01, 2017

Snohomish City Hall. Sky Valley Chronicle photo
(SNOHOMISH, WA.) -- At its next meeting the Snohomish Planning Commission will be discussing how to improve the development permit process.

The discussion will focus on making the process more efficient and easier to administer.

The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 7 at the George Gilbertson Boardroom of the Snohomish School District Resource Center located at 1601 Avenue D.

The meeting will get underway with a staff demonstration on how permits are handled from the moment they are submitted until they are issued.

Following that, staff members will lead a discussion about potential code amendments to consolidate the number of permit types and to reorganize and reformat the code to make it easier to understand.

All residents are encouraged to attend the meeting and participate in the adoption of code amendments to improve the permit process.

For more information about this project and the Planning Commission in general contact: Planning Director Glen Pickus at pickus@snohomishwa.gov or 360-282-3173.

The regular July 5 meeting of the Planning Commission is cancelled due to its proximity to the Fourth of July holiday.

The meeting has been rescheduled to July 12. At that meeting the Commission will hold a public hearing to consider an update of the Shoreline Master Program.
