(SKYKOMISH, WA.) – The annual Sky Art Week in Skykomish takes place in the historic railroad town just off Highway 2 from Monday June 25 through Friday June 29.
Now in its eighth year, the mission of Sky Art Week is to challenge participants to enjoy Skykomish and surrounding nature with fresh eyes, through a week of creativity and explorations in visual art.
Besides creative residents from the town of Skykomish, participants in Sky Art Week come from various points in the Skykomish Valley, Seattle, Olympia, Eastern Washington and further afield. The culminating art exhibit in Maloney’s Store has become a celebration for the whole town.
The event is organized by artist and teacher BeAnne Hull, with support from 4Culture, the Town of Skykomish, the Skykomish Historical Society, and many friends of Sky Art Week.
Although registration is full up for this year, all are invited to join the community for live music by the the bluegrass band Hidin’ in the Hills, potluck party and free exhibit of the art made all week.
The music event takes place at Maloney’s Store in Skykomish at 6 p.m. on Friday June 29th.
