(SKYKOMISH, WA) -- The first Skykomish Open Air Market of the spring and summer season will be held Saturday, May 10th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the historic railroad town of Skykomish.
The location is Depot Park, a grassy picnic area along Railroad Avenue in Skykomish’s historical district.
You'll find a variety of vendors displaying their handmade gifts, plants, planters, etched granite pieces, a rich variety of jewelry styles, hand sewn items, cards, photography, woodcraft, bowls, some furniture, and much more.
The Markets are held from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on the second Saturday of the month, May through September. Market dates are: May 10, June 14, July 12, August 9 and September.
Skykomish’s "Toot Sweet" railroad themed candy and gift shop is open weekends now, as well as the Skykomish Historical Museum, both in Maloney’s General Store.
New for last year and continuing this year is the impressive Great Northern and Cascade miniature 7-1/2 gauge railroad that has over 2,000 feet of track and more to follow as volunteer labor permits.
The railroad is open each weekend now through the summer with free train rides for children and adults around the developing Skykomish Town Center highlighted by the restored old Skykomish Depot.
Visitors are invited to come and take in the charm of this historical railroad town, ride the train and shop the Open Air Markets.
