DONATIONS BEING TAKEN FOR INJURED SKYKOMISH FIREFIGHTER

(SYKOMISH, WA) -- The Skykomish Volunteer fire department is taking donations to assist one of its own with mounting medical bills.
Assistant Skykomish Fire Chief Robert Berryessa, 42, one of only two paid members of the department was injured in an unspecified accident about 2 weeks ago and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.
A spokeswoman at the fire station said Berryessa has significant mounting medical bills and anyone who would like to donate to help defray the firefighter’s medical liabilities may drop off a donation in his name at the firehouse at 107 West Old Cascade Highway in Skykomish or may drop off a donation at the Bank of America branch in Sultan.
Simply ask the clerk at the counter to direct deposit the donation to Mr. Berryessa’a account at the bank.
Berryessa was reported to be recuperating at home and was not expected back to work for a few weeks.
