Three Monroe High Players Named To AP All-State Team
December 30, 2017

This report was first published 12/19/17 in the Breaking News column

(MONROE) -- Three Monroe High School football players have been named to the Associated Press All-State Team. The Bearcats making the cut are:

Class 4-A First Team: Running back Isaiah Lewis, Monroe High
Class 4-A First Team: Linebacker Ricky Baker, Monroe High
Class 4-A First Team: Offensive lineman Josh Jermome, Monroe High

O’Dea High School senior Jamyn Patu was voted the AP Washington state player of the year for all classifications after leading the Irish to their first state title in a long, dry stretch -- 22 years. He rushed for 2,208 yards and 28 TD's as O’Dea won its first state title since 1995.

Patu also shares the Class 3A player of the year honor with Garfield High's Tre’Shaun Harrison.

The All State team is made up of players voted on by sports media members from around the state.
