| | TEENS INJURED IN ACCIDENT IN MONROE March 04, 2010

(MONROE, WA) -- Monroe Police say speeding was the cause of a single car accident that injured two young people Thursday and totaled the vehicle they were riding in.
Monroe Police spokeswoman Director Debbie Willis said a 2007 Mazda was traveling eastbound on Park Lane in Monroe Thursday about 2:43 p.m. when the driver, an unidentified 17-year old male, lost control and slid sideways striking a Snohomish County PUD pole.
Both the driver and a passenger, a 14-year old boy, were taken to Valley General Hospital in Monroe and were treated and released.
Police say road conditions at the time of the crash were clear and dry and that speeding appears to be the cause of the accident.
