ENTERTAINMENT NEWS | | BURN BAN ON FOR UNINCORPORATED SNOHOMISH COUNTY July 17, 2010

(EVERETT, WA) -- Due to high fire danger and expected hot and dry weather conditions, a modified outdoor burning ban is in effect until further notice for the unincorporated areas of Snohomish County.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshall put the ban into effect July 15th.
This restriction bans outdoor burning, except for recreational fires that are less than 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet high and are for cooking and pleasure only.
Recreational fires must be contained within a fire pit that has been cleared of all combustible material within a 10 foot radius, must be monitored at all times and must have water source readily available (at a minimum, a charged water hose or a 5 gallon bucket).
This burn ban will be in effect until further notice. Citizens within the boundaries of an incorporated city or town should check with their local fire department for current burning restrictions. The burn ban is expected to remain in effect until there is a sustained period of rainfall and the fire risk returns to low.
