(INDEX, WA.) -- The Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office has taken custody of a man's body that was found floating Saturday in the Skykomish River in the upper Sky Valley area of the county.

Last month two people were swept away by the fast moving river over Sunset Falls in Index. One was a 49-year old man from Seattle and the other a 25-year old woman visiting from Texas. Their bodies, as of Saturday had not been recovered.

The Sheriff's office said Saturday there was no confirmation the body of the male located in the river was that of the missing and presumed drowned Seattle man. The identity as well as cause and manner of death will be made by the ME's office.

KOMO-TV in Seattle reported the body was first spotted floating down the river by a man who was sitting on the back porch of his house which overlooks the river.

The man's sons then tracked the body down river as it moved in order to maintain a visual on it so as to help responders find and retrieve the body, according to the TV report.
