DNR is also filling in the final data gaps for the motorized trails section of the forest and has also finished evaluating the 4x4 technical trail options and laid out the temporary parking areas.
Plans have also been made for the permanent motorized trailhead.
Earlier in the month volunteers and DNR staff located a tentative route from the proposed county non-motorized trailhead to the old road/trunk trail north of May Creek.
This route may provide access into the non-motorized portion of Reiter Foothills Forest for a variety of non-motorized recreationists including hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders.

Due to the holidays the next focus group on the Reiter Forest plan will be on January 26. Participants should be prepared for all weather and conditions and note there are no facilities or services available at Reiter.
Interested persons should meet at 9 a.m. January 26 at the old gravel parking area along Reiter Road. More info, contact David Way at 360-854-2830.
