INDEX WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN CAR CRASH ON HY 2

(GOLD BAR, WA) -- An Index woman was seriously injured in a one car accident Friday evening on U.S. Highway 2 in the Gold Bar area.
A State Patrol spokesman says 52-year old Katherine A. Hughes of Index was Eastbound on Highway 2 Friday at 5:43 p.m. when the car she was driving, a 1996 Ford Taurus, “overcorrected” on the road, veered to the right, struck a guard rail then a power pole and came to rest on its side.
Hughes was injured and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.
The state patrol does not believe drugs or alcohol was factors in the crash but he cause is under investigation.
The Ford she was driving was totaled.
