MORE TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS FOR HIGHWAY 2
September 14, 2008

(U.S. HIGHWAY 2) -- The Washington State Department of Transportation reports that US Highway 2 will be reduced to one lane of traffic Eastbound from milepost 62 after 4 miles west of Stevens Pass Summit at Tunnel Creek Bridge up to the Stevens Pass Summit starting 7:09 AM starting tomorrow, Monday, and lasting until 5:09 PM November 14 due to construction work from milepost 62 to milepost 65.

Work crews will be installing fiber optic cable on the shoulder and installing two new variable speed limit signs and a new traffic camera.

On the east side of Stevens Pass the WSDOT says there are continued speed restrictions, temporary traffic lights, and intermittent closings on Highway 2 at milepost 104.67 between Peshastin and the junction with US 2 and US 97 4 miles east of Leavenworth. These will continue until October 31 due to major road construction from milepost 104 to milepost 105.
