Federal Way man arrested in fatal hit & run case

(KING COUNTY, WA.) -- The Washington State Patrol says an arrest has been made in a fatal hit and run collision that occurred in April.

The arrest of a Federal Way, WA man was made about 3 pm on July 13 involving a case that happened on April 16 of this year soutbound on State Route 167 to State Route 18.

The WSP says on that day a white Ford Crown Victoria struck and killed a pedestrian that was walking away from a disabled vehicle.

The Crown Victoria was subsequently located after it had been set on fire in a Seattle neighborhood.

The State Department of Corrections Southwest Region Community Response Unit along with the United States Marshall’s Service, WSP Swat members and detectives from the WSP Criminal Investigation Division made an arrest in thew case Thursday in Federal Way.

The man arested as a suspect in the case, David Warren Marshall, 19 of Federal Way was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of Vehicular Homicide and Arson.

Marshall was also booked on two warrants, one was for a felony weapons violation and the other was for a felony narcotics violation, acording to a statement released by the state patrol.

In the statement the Washington State Patrol said it wanted to, "Express our great appreciation for the incredible job our Criminal Investigation Division detectives did in this case and the assistance from the other agencies mentioned above. Without their help, the arrest and closure would not have been possible."
