GENERAL VALLEY NEWS | | BURLINGTON MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN ONE CAR ROLL OVER ACCIDENT March 02, 2010

(SKAGIT COUNTY) -- A Burlington man was seriously injured Monday afternoon when his vehicle careened out of control in Skagit County and rolled multiple times.
The Washington State patrol’s Marysville office says 56-year old Michael James Garner was driving his 1990 Acura Legend eastbound about 2:17 p.m. Monday on State Route 20 and at Sims Road lost control of the vehicle while he was passing another car.
Garner’s vehicle veered to the right, hit a guardrail and a stop sign then rolled multiple times and came to rest in a field. Garner was ejected from the vehicle in the accident.
The car was totaled and Garner was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with what were believed to be serious injuries. There were no passengers in Garner’s vehicle and no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. The state patrol says it suspects drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
