ANACORTES MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN ONE CAR ACCIDENT NEAR BURLINGTON
February 08, 2010

(BURLINGTON, WA) -- A 40-year old Anacortes man sustained serious injuries when the car he was driving early Sunday morning near Burlington left the road and rolled over.

A spokesman for the Washington State Patrol says 40-year old Kenneth N. Carter of Anacortes was seriously injured just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday when the 1989 Mercedes sedan he was driving westbound on SR20 left the roadway, swerved to the left at the Avon Allen Road about 2 miles west of Burlington, rolled once and came to rest right side up in the median facing eastbound.

The Mercedes was totaled and Carter was taken by ground transport to Skagit Valley Hospital and from there was airlifted to Harborview Trauma Center in Seattle with serious injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, 30-year old Kolbee N. Yates of Sedro Woooley sustained minor injuries, was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital for treatment and later was released.

The state patrol says the cause of the accident is under investigation and charges may follow pending the probe.
