POLICE SEEK PUBLIC'S HELP IN LOCATING RAPE SUSPECT
October 24, 2008

Seattle police hope someone will be able to identify the man in this photo
(SEATTLE, WA) -- Seattle police have released a photograph of a man they believe is a suspect in the sexual assault of a woman in her Wallingford home earlier this week.

Police say the photo, seen with this story, comes from an unidentified business in Lynnwood and is being circulated by police in the hopes that someone in the area will be able to identify the man.

On Monday night a woman was sexually assaulted by a lone male in her home in the 1600 block of North 52nd Street in Wallingford between the hours of 9 and 10 p.m. while the woman’s children were sleeping and her husband was out running an errand.

Police say the white male entered the home and confronted the victim, threatened her, then sexually assaulted the woman and stole some items before fleeing.

At present Seattle police believe the attack appears to be an "isolated incident" involving a man who was a stranger to the woman.

A Seattle police spokesman said they were circulating the photo of the suspect at this time because they are certain this is the suspect they are looking for.

Anyone with information about the man in the photo is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Department Sexual Assault Unit at 206-684-5575. Area residents can also report a crime tip through Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
