(DUBLIN, OHIO) -- There is a slang term in the American language called "going postal." The expression was created after a series of murders and attempted murders, according to Wikipedia, from 1986 onward in which United States Postal Service workers "shot and killed managers, fellow workers and members of the police or general public in acts of mass murder."

Between the years 1970 and 1997, more than 40 people were killed by current or former Postal Service employees in at least 20 incidents of what has come to be called "workplace rage."

And it has happened yet again, just days before Christmas.

Authorities in Ohio say a mail carrier who reportedly was at risk of losing his job for reasons undisclosed, stripped naked and walked into a Dublin, Ohio post office on Saturday and at 4:30 am fatally shot his boss then later tracked down and killed the Postmaster of that facility who had been leading the investigation into the alleged killer's workplace violations.

The shooter was identified by witnesses as 24-year old DeShaune K. Stewart. His co-workers told police Stewart was naked when he entered the building through a sorting bay ahead of his shift early Saturday morning and allegedly gunned down his immediate supervisor, 52-year-old Lance Maurice Herrera Dempsey, according to affidavit obtained by the Columbus Dispatch.

Dublin Police Lt. Steve Farmer told the Dispatch Stewart did not threaten his other co-workers, he simply targeted Dempsey.

After allegedly shooting Dempsey police believe Stewart went to an apartment complex where he waited in his car for a second target, the Postmaster of the office where Stewart worked.

About 7:00 am police responded to 911 calls of a man chasing a woman with a gun. Arriving officers found the body of the Postmaster, identified as Ginger Ballard, 53, between two parked cars. She had been killed instantly by blunt-force trauma to the head after being thrown to the ground, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

Police officers arrested Stewart at the scene and recovered a handgun after he attempted to flee the area, according to local published reports.

Police said Stewart had reportedly been facing unspecified workplace violations that could have resulted in his termination and the shooting of the two people appears to be retaliation against those involved in Stewart's possible firing.
