(SEATTLE, WA.) -- County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying three men who pistol whipped and robbed an elderly woman after breaking into her home this week.
The violent home invasion robbery happened Wednesday just before 1:00 pm a house in the 11600 block of 59th Avenue South, which is in the Rainier View area.
Surveillance video shows three men exit a car parked across the street from the house and walk towards the residence. See video at lower right. Click to start.
"The suspects walked around to the back of the house, kicked in the back door and entered the house" said Sgt. Cindi West of the sheriff's office. "A 74 year old woman who was home as the suspects entered tried to run out the front door. One of the suspects caught her; pistol whipped her with a handgun and held her mouth closed as she tried to scream."
While the woman was being held by that man, the two other men searched the house. The three fled after taking cash and jewelry from the home.
Detectives believe the suspects may have been involved in an earlier burglary at the same house last month. No one was home at the time of that break-in.
