Can You Identify This Hombre?

The law could use your assistance in identifying suspect and suspect vehicle from a strong arm robbery last week

By Rex D. Cain

(BURIEN, WA.) – The King County Sheriffs office would not be averse to you, in the collective sense, helping to identify a suspect in an armed robbery where the victim got shot at -- which is never a pleasant experience.

The caper took place last Wednesday April 13 in broad daylight by brazen thieves in Burien near the 15800 block of First Avenue South.

A young man, possibly in his teens with bad intentions and armed with a deadly weapon, a handgun, ran up to a 13-year-old kid and said hand over the backpack kid, or words to that effect.

The kid, obviously not impressed in the least with the would be robber’s act, fought back instead of giving up the bag and during the struggle the perp pulls out a heater and fires off a round. Luckily the bullet did not land in human flesh nor did it graze same.

Then a second perp goes over to assist the first perp and the two perps eventually got that backpack away from the kid (must have been a tough kid, being as it took two perps to get the backpack) and fled to a getaway rig, a Suzuki SX4.

Not exactly a high class, in-demand getaway car but it is what it is. There was a third perp involved, the getaway car driver. So now there’s three perps in this deal.

King County Major Crimes Detectives have told us (us being the mighty Chronicle) that they could use the public’s help to identify the suspects in this incident.

The sketch you see up topside in this report is Suspect #1 who drew the heater on, and struggled with the victim and fired off a round. There is no sketch of suspect #2.

Regarding the suspect vehicle, the surveillance photos up above are of the actual suspect vehicle driving away from the robbery scene. The other photo is a stock photo to represent what the vehicle looks like if it’s all shiny and new looking.

So.

Suspect 1 (Drawing attached)
·       Late Teens
·       Samoan or S.E. Asia
·       2-3 inch curly black hair
·       Red Jacket
·       Blue Jeans
·       White Shoes

Suspect 2 (No Drawing)
·       40-50 y/o
·       Black Male
·       Unshaven
·       Black Jacket

If anyone has any information on the suspect(s) or the vehicle please call KCSO at 206/296-3311. Thank you for your attention to this criminal matter.
