Always A Good Idea To Know

(MONROE, WA.) -- In a world filled with all manner of craziness and uncertainties there are a few constants.

A few places of solid rock where you can tether your sanity and know that certain things will always remain the same -- no matter the pathetic state of Twitter and Facebook and fake news, the Russians messing in the United States Presidential election or porn stars named Stormy suing the leader of the free world.

There are a few things you can just always take to the bank, thank God.

One of those things is this: if you had nickel for every time a big truck crashed into a highway overpass in every state of this nation in almost every month of every year, in the manner of the photos you see at right, you'd never have to work for a living again.

No matter how much truck driver training people get, no matter how many times their bosses might mention the fact that, "You know Bob, you have to be really careful that your rig will clear an overpass before you try to drive under the darned things," (or know how tall the truck is you're transporting on a flat bed trailer) truck drivers are always and forever going to crash those rigs into overpasses.

It's like death and taxes and porn stars.

This particular accident that you see in the photos at right happened in lovely Monroe, Washington Thursday afternoon during the 1:00 pm hour in the blazing sunshine, clear blue skies and with visibility about 120 miles.

Big truck on a flat bed went boom into the overpass on West Main Street at State Route 522. Just like that.

We are pleased to report no injuries, save for possibly some embarrassment on the part of the driver.

And so it goes in the land of the free, home of the brave.
