WSU Spring Breakers:
Get that booze out of the car, the WSP has its eyes on you

March 08, 2018

Chronicle Staff

(PULLMAN, WA.) – A message for you students at Washington State University heading out on Spring Break.

Starting today (March 8) the Washington State Patrol says additional troopers will be on patrol to “ensure safe travel during Washington State University’s (WSU) Spring Break.”

That means students can expect to see “increased presence on State Route 26 and State Route 195,” said a WSP statement with troopers “focusing on collision causing violations such as speeding, unsafe passing, distracted driving as well as impaired driving.”

The WSP reminds drivers to be prepared for changing road and weather conditions and notes that those conditions are available by downloading the mobile app from Washington State Department of Transportation or by calling 511.

Some reminders: students who become drowsy while driving across the state should stop and rest because “drowsy driving crashes are extremely dangerous and can often be fatal.”
