WOMAN WHO DIED IN CAR ACCIDENT NEAR ARLINGTON IDENTIFIED
August 28, 2010

(ARLINGTON, WA) -- The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a woman who was killed in a head on accident Thursday near Arlington as 32-year-old Lisa Penix of Arlington.

Penix was killed Thursday afternoon when the Honda sedan she was driving crossed the centerline and struck a Ford truck head on, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s office.

The accident happened about 2:30 pm in the 15200 block of 67th Ave. NE just south of the city of Arlington. The Honda was headed northbound on 67th Avenue.

Penix was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, an adult male, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His name was not available. No passengers were in either vehicle.

A sheriff’s office spokeswoman says speed, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash at this stage of the investigation.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office collision unit are investigating.
