(SEATAC, WA.) – The King County Sheriff’s office (KCSO) says two teenagers were shot Monday evening in SeaTac while they were riding in a vehicle.
About 5:40 pm “Multiple 911 callers reported seeing a male shooting a gun towards a vehicle at Angle Lake Park located at 19500 BLK International Blvd S, in SeaTac,” said a statement from the sheriff’s office.
KCSO/ SeaTac Police arrived and found “numerous shell casings” at the park but were unable to locate any victims. Witnesses reported that a male involved had just fled to a vehicle near the boat launch.
“Police located the male who was identified as being involved. A handgun was recovered on the suspect,” said the sheriff’s office statement About an hour after the initial call, a local hospital advised officers that two victims, young boys ages 17 and 19, had just arrived with gunshot wounds.
Officers say they sustained non-life threatening injuries. At this point Detectives are continuing to investigate what led up to the shooting but it appears the suspects are possibly gang affiliated, according to authorities. The information investigating officers have been given so far is that some type of disturbance occurred in the park that lead up to the shooting and multiple shots were fired at the park. More suspects may be involved.
Investigators say the victims were driven to the Hospital by a friend. A house located across the lake from where the shooting occurred was hit by a stray bullet but no one in the home was injured.
