TEEN GIRLS PHOTOS “HIJACKED” FROM FACEBOOK And put on child porn site February 19, 2012
FBI and police search for whoever "hijacked" teens photos from Facebook.
(NATIONAL) -- Massachusetts police and the FBI are looking for the person or persons who “hijacked” Facebook photos of teenage girls from more than a dozen high schools in the state and then posted them on an “an anonymous bulletin board” on the Internet that police say features child pornography.
The site has been described as having links to pornographic content and photos of students from all 50 states.
Authorities say the Massachusetts link contained pictures of 17 teenage girls from Bay Path Regional Voc-Tech High School in Charlton and others from schools around the state.
Police said that even though the pictures of the girls showed them fully clothed, the photos contained information that could be used to identify them and where they went to school.
The FBI is investigating to see if any laws were violated, including privacy and anti-pornography laws.
The Internet bulletin board site is hosted in Ohio but its servers – the large computers where the contents of the site originate – are located in Eastern Europe, out of bounds for local and federal authorities.
