State agency suspends Clark County Physician’s license
February 07, 2018

Chronicle staff

(OLYMPIA, WA.) – The Medical Quality Assurance Commission of Washington State has suspended the license of Clark County physician Daniel A. Clayton pending further proceedings.

A statement released by the Washington State Dept. of Health says the Commission alleges that Dr. Clayton is unsafe to practice medicine due to misuse of controlled substances and alcohol, and not completing a treatment program.

“Charges also state that Dr. Clayton made misrepresentations to the Commission in the context of a disciplinary proceeding or investigation,” said the statement.

Clayton cannot practice as a physician in Washington until the charges are resolved. Dr. Clayton has 20 days to respond to the charges and request a hearing.

The legal documents on this case are available online by clicking Provider Credential Search on the Department of Health website; copies can also be requested by calling 360-236-4700.

Anyone who believes a health care provider acted unprofessionally is encouraged to call that number to report their complaint, says the statement.

The Medical Commission promotes patient safety and enhances the integrity of the profession through licensing, rule-making, discipline, and education.
