State Agency Says Sorry For The U SUCK sign
On I-5

April 18, 2018

(SEATTLE, WA.) – About 3:25 pm Tuesday, a Reddit poster with the handle BruceInc uploaded the photo you see at right. A freeway sign, southbound on Interstate 5 at Exit 154B that says “U SUCK.”

A short time after he posted that, he posted this addendum: “Full disclosure: I did enhance the letters a bit in photoshop because my dashcam screengrab was a bit hard to read, but the message is not faked.”

How fascinating. A new effort by the Washington State Dept. of Transportation (WSDOT) perhaps to hip-up its image a bit in order to “relate” better to all those the 20-somethings out there?

Not quite. WSDOT does admit it posted an “inappropriate message” on one of its I-5 traffic signs but the posting was due to a “training error” and it apologized to anyone who was offended, according to KCPQ-TV in Seattle.

And the agency says it’s taking steps to make sure it does not happen again.
