Sheriff’s detectives claim Lynnwood area man raped young woman as she lay dying from overdose

(MARTHA LAKE, WA.) –- Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives allege a 19-year-old Lynnwood-area man raped a young woman last weekend as she was dying from a drug overdose at his residence but that was only part of the tragic story of what transpired that evening.
The other half is that the young man texted photographs of her partially clothed body to friends and then stuffed her body in a box, according to detectives.
The Seattle Times reported that the 18-year old woman who died went to a party Saturday night at the man’s mobile-home park just north of Martha Lake in Snohomish County.
The woman reportedly died that night or early Sunday, according to court documents filed in the case and her body stayed in the suspect’s mobile home until early Tuesday, when it was discovered by sheriff’s deputies in a black storage box.
The sheriff’s office had been tipped off about the woman’s death after one of the man’s co-workers notified police saying he’d seen photos of the woman’s body and heard the suspect’s account of her death as well as his plans to bury her in Marysville, according to the newspaper report which noted the unidentified man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail Tuesday for investigation of first-degree manslaughter, second-degree rape and controlled-substance homicide.
A previously published report said the young woman who died attended Mariner High School.
