(NATIONAL) -- Monday afternoon Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders chided Republicans with this Facebook post:
"Even FOX News columnists are admitting it: Republicans are going to come back from their “tax reform” plan with cuts to programs working people depend on.
Paul Ryan said last week that in 2018 the Republicans will be ready to put programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security on the chopping block to pay for their tax cuts which overwhelmingly benefit corporations and the wealthy.
Why are they doing this? Not for workers. Not for the elderly. Not for their constituents. It's for their wealthy campaign contributors who are waiting for their payback in the form of massive tax cuts."
The timing of Sanders comment is ironic. In early November former US Labor Secretary Robert Reich and Inequality Media released a new video showing how the GOP tax reform plan was/is a classic Trojan Horse trick "that will pave the way for deeper cuts to education, health care and other programs," according to Reich.
The real goal of this tax reform deal, claims Reich and others, is to pull off a huge redistribution of wealth -- over a Trillion dollars from the pockets of the middle class, working class and poor to the designer pockets of the rich.
