Seattle lawyer suing medical clinic for mistake he says will kill him

(SEATTLE, WA.) – Seattle lawyer Douglas Roach, 60, says he never smoked a day in his life but now is dying of lung cancer all because of an alleged fatal screw up at the University of Washington Medical Center.
Now he and his wife are suing the center over the mistake he says will likely cost him his life.
His lawsuit claims that six years ago when he was being treated for a broken back at the University of Washington Medical Center, a radiologist found a lesion on his lung "which was marked 'critical' in all caps and was sent to my surgeon," according to what he told KIRO-TV in Seattle. "And I don't know why he chose never to share it with me or with my primary care doctor."
In short, Roach claims no one told him or his doctors about that lesion on his lung until he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
So for five years the lesion grew unchecked and early last year he came down with what doctors thought then was pneumonia.
It turned out he was full of cancer.
