STAY ALIVE ON HY 2: TEEN SAFETY
PROGRAM OFFERED

May 31, 2009

(EVERETT, WA) -- In light of the most recent fatal car accident on Highway 2 near Skykomish just yesterday morning, Sky Valley parents may wish to encourage teen drivers in the family to attend a free safe driving program the Sheriff's Office is offering Saturday June 6th.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office will present a free three-hour program called
"Driving it Home," which is aimed at cautioning newly licensed drivers about the dangers of speed, alcohol and bad driving habits.

The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon June 6th at Everett Civic Auditorium located at 2415 Colby Avenue in Everett. It is a walk in event, no registration required.

Professional accident investigators will review several local vehicle crashes and present a staged car-pedestrian crash. Also scheduled are testimonials from family members of fatal car crash victims. The event is not suitable for small children.
