BREAKING NEWS | | SEARCH STILL UNDERWAY FOR MISSING SON OF BOXING PROMOTER BOB ARUM Missing on a solo climb of a peak in the North Cascades September 03, 2010

(NEAR STEHEKIN, WA) -- Searchers are still coming through the area where Seattle environmental attorney, and the son of world famous boxing promoter Bob Arum, went missing while on a solo climb to Storm King peak in the North Cascades.
Arum was reported missing Monday by family members after he failed to return on time from a planned solo climb of the 8,515 foot peak.
A North Cascades National Park spokeswoman has reported a daypack was found at the 8,000-foot level yesterday during an aerial search and that on Wednesday a backpack was discovered by ground searchers.
The pack was found about 900 feet below the summit of the peak, along a climbing route, on the mountain's south side.
The equipment needed for climbing was missing form the pack suggesting a climber had left in on purpose to avoid carrying unnecessary weight on the way to the summit.
Today search dogs will be used in the effort to locate Arum, who is an experienced climber/outdoorsman who was on a personal quest to climb the 100 tallest peaks in Washington State.
