(SEATTLE, WA.) -- One man is a dead as the result of a police shooting and a woman was taken into custody following a robbery Monday night at a store in the Northgate Mall.
Police say both were suspects in an armed robbery at a young person's store in the mall called Forever 21 that sells clothing, accessories and makeup.
Following that robbery both suspects fled to an apartment complex not far from the mall where one of the suspects became engaged for some reason in an altercation with the apartment manager and during the altercation a shot was fired. The manager sustained a minor injury in the scuffle.
KOMO-TV reported the location of that apartment complex was the Galleria apartment complex at 10500 Meridian Avenue North.
The man with the gun then fled from the complex in a car which officers eventually spotted and a police pursuit began.
It ended in the city’s Magnuson Park where the suspect crashed the vehicle and, according to police, exited the car brandishing a gun and was fired at and hit by officers.
The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he was pronounced dead, according to broadcast reports.
The woman suspect was taken into custody earlier just west of Northgate Mall. She was on foot.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
