Port Gamble heritage park closed due to fire danger August 14, 2018

(KITSAP COUNTY, WA) – Due to extremely dry conditions and elevated fire dangers in the Port Gamble “forest block”, Pope Resources is temporarily prohibiting public access to the popular Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park.
The park will remain closed until further notice when conditions improve and become more moderate, according to a statement released by county officials. For more information, contact Kitsap County Parks Department at (360) 337-5350.
Port Gamble is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) on the northwestern shore of the Kitsap Peninsula .It is also a small bay along which the community lies, near the entrance to Hood Canal.
The unincorporated communities of Port Gamble and Little Boston, part of Kitsap County, lie on either side of the mouth of the bay.
