(ALOHA, ORE.) – Police forensic investigators spent much of Saturday searching for evidence in a grisly murder case at an Aloha, Oregon home.
Aloha is a community of about 49,000 people locatedsome 11 miles west of downtown Portland.
The search was done in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found Thursday in the trunk of a car, decapitated, dismembered and stuffed into two suitcases.
A report by The Oregonian newspaper quoted a Washington County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman as saying the one-story home was associated with an unidentified man who was taken into custody in connection with the death.
The house, located in a quiet cul de sac is located not far from where the body of Sara Zghoul, 28, of Aloha, was found stuffed, in pieces, into two suitcases in the trunk of a black BMW late Thursday night.
Sources told The Oregonian that officers found the body after getting word of a possible homicide. Police then tracked a suspect in her death to a ravine where he tried unsuccessfully to kill himself by slashing his throat and wrists.
The man was taken into custody by Beaverton police. Police have said they believe there is no threat to the public.
Zghoul leaves behind a young son. Friends and acquaintances says she was “a selfless young woman who made an impression on nearly everyone who met her.”
