Pit Bull Attacks Toddler
In Puyallup
Dog latched onto
boy's face

April 19, 2017

(PUYALLUP, WA.) -- A 3-year-old boy who was badly injured by being bitten in the face by a pit bull Monday has undergone reconstructive surgery and is now recovering.

The Morning News Tribune in Tacoma said the boy sustained wounds to his eye, cheekbone, chin and face, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

The dog that attacked the boy has been deemed dangerous. The 56-year old owner has been told by sheriff's deputies he has to surrender the animal by April 28.

The boy was attacked at a residence in the 11400 block of Valley Avenue East in Puyallup when friends came to the house to help the dog's owner move.

The boy had arrived with his mother and shortly after arrival, the dog reportedly walked up to the child and "latched onto his face," according to a sheriff’s spokesman.
