Pedestrian hit and injured by truck while walking along State Route 161 in Eatonville
July 22, 2018



(EATONVILLE, WA.) – The Washington State Patrol says a man from Eatonville, a pedestrian was hit by a car and badly injured Saturday night.

The incident occurred about 11:30 pm on State Route 161, about a mile north of Eatonville.

The patrol report says the pedestrian, identified as 57-year old Michael L. Sink was walking southbound on the northbound shoulder of SR161 at Milepost 5, when a red 2011 Ford F350 pickup truck that was traveling northbound ran into Mr. Sink.

Mr. Sink was treated at the scene and then taken to Tacoma General Hospital with unspecified injuries.

The driver of the truck, identified as 37-year old Danielle R. Ilby, of Eatonville was uninjured. Her truck was impounded, according to the WSP report which also says it is believed that drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.

The report says the cause the accident is pending investigation and under the word “Charges” are the words “vehicular assault.”
