Multi Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Lanes Of I-5
November 13, 2017

Chronicle staff

(EVERETT, WA.) -- Authorities say one person is dead and three others were injured and taken to area hospitals following a multi-vehicle pile up around 11:30 pm Sunday night.

The crashes happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the junction with US Highway 2.

As late as 3:00 am Monday morning, traffic was being detoured onto State Route 529. The state patrol says there were "a total of 7 vehicles" involved, six cars and a semi truck.

It appears three vehicles crashed on I-5 about 11:30 pm and then a semi-truck and three other vehicles crashed into the vehicles stalled out on the freeway.
