June 26, 2013
(MONROE, WA) -- A Monroe woman who allegedly pretended to be the mother of her teenage son's friend now faces a felony charge for allegedly helping that friend skip school.
Jackie Sevillano, 32, has been charged with criminal impersonation by the Snohomish County Prosecutor's office according to a Seattle Times report.
Prosecutors allege Ms. Sevillano called school officials May 4th claiming to be another boy’s mother and told the school he was not in class because he had a doctor’s appointment.
School offcials suspected something was not right with the call and police eventually tracked down both boys who were playing hooky from school that day.
Ms. Sevillano was charged with a felony after rejecting an offer from the prosecutor's office to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge, says the report.
