MAJOR FIRE IN TACOMA DESTROYS BAPTIST CHURCH
September 05, 2013

(TACOMA, WA) -- A Three-alarm fire destroyed the Golgotha Moldavian Baptist Church near Tacoma and was "one of three fires that occurred early Thursday morning within blocks of each other," according to a report by KIRO-TV in Seattle.

The church was located in the 8400 block of Portland Ave. E. in Midland, and was one of three fires that occurred early Thursday morning within blocks of each other, according to the report here .

Midland is southeast of Tacoma in Pierce County.

The church fire reportedly started just before one a.m. The station reported that when KIRO TV news personnel arrived, flames were shooting through the roof of the building and as dozens of firefighters worked that blaze, other fire crews were already working a fire nearby at an abandoned house in the 1700 block of 91st East.
