Lynnwood woman, Oregon woman die in separate accidents in Puget Sound

(SEATTLE, WA.) -- The Washington State Patrol says a Lynnwood, Washington woman died in an accident in Seattle over the weekend on Interstate 5.
The accident happened Sunday just after 2:00 am Northbound on I-5 just south of Roanoke Street. The patrol report says a 2004 Jeep Liberty was northbound in lane 4 of the freeway when it left the roadway for unknown reasons to the left, crashed into a left side barrier and came to a stop in lane four.
The Jeep was totaled, the driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center and later died from her injuries. The patrol report identified her as 20-year old Taylor N. Hulsey of Lynnwood.
A passenger, a 25-year old woman from Seattle was injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center. The state patrol says the cause of the accident is under investigation.
In a separate incident a woman from Roseburg, Oregon died in an accident in Pierce County. That incident occurred on Friday Dec. 9 just after 2:30 am about 3 miles west of Puyallup on State Route 512, west of Canyon Road.
In that incident a 2006 Kia Sportage was headed westbound in the eastbound lanes of SR 512 from Canyon Road in Lane 2 and a black 2003 Ford Expedition was headed eastbound on the same road in Lane 2 when the Kia ran into The Ford in Lane 2.
Both vehicles were totaled by the impact and the roadway was closed for over four and half hours.
Killed in the collision was the driver of the Kia identified as 29-year old Heather M. Lawson of Roseburg, Oregon.
The driver of the Ford Expedition, identified as 24-year old Jose F. Becerra of Puyallup, WA was injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The patrol report says the cause of the accident was not immediately known.
